Services / Index 02

Six services,
stated in full

Each entry sets out the purpose of the service, the typical scope of work, and the deliverables that can be expected. No prices, delivery guarantees, partnerships or past projects are stated.

01Service

Custom software development

Build software around a specific workflow when existing products cannot represent it without distortion.

Typical scope

Workflow modelling, data design, application development, roles and permissions, reporting views, and migration of existing records where needed.

Possible deliverables

  • 01Documented workflow and data model
  • 02Working application delivered in increments
  • 03Automated tests for core business rules
  • 04Deployment and configuration notes
02Service

Web application development

Provide browser-based interfaces that behave predictably across screen sizes, input methods and assistive technology.

Typical scope

Interface architecture, component design, state handling, form and validation logic, accessibility review, and performance work.

Possible deliverables

  • 01Responsive interface implementation
  • 02Reusable component structure
  • 03Accessibility and keyboard-path review notes
  • 04Performance measurements for key pages
03Service

API and systems integration

Connect separate tools and data sources so information moves reliably instead of being re-entered.

Typical scope

Field-level data mapping, API design or consumption, scheduled or event-driven transfers, validation, retry handling, and transfer logging.

Possible deliverables

  • 01Integration map identifying system of record per field
  • 02Implemented interfaces or synchronisation jobs
  • 03Error handling and retry behaviour
  • 04Transfer logs and operational runbook
04Service

Cloud and infrastructure planning

Decide how a system is hosted, deployed and observed before it reaches production.

Typical scope

Environment structure, deployment pipeline, configuration and secret handling, logging and metrics, backup and recovery procedure definition.

Possible deliverables

  • 01Environment and deployment plan
  • 02Scripted, repeatable release process
  • 03Logging, error reporting and metric setup
  • 04Documented backup and recovery steps
05Service

Software maintenance and improvement

Keep an existing system dependable and adaptable after its first release.

Typical scope

Dependency and security updates, defect resolution, refactoring of fragile areas, incremental feature work, and documentation upkeep.

Possible deliverables

  • 01Prioritised maintenance backlog
  • 02Dependency and update schedule
  • 03Defect fixes with regression coverage
  • 04Updated technical documentation
06Service

Technical consulting

Give an independent reading of architecture, delivery practice or technology choice before a larger commitment.

Typical scope

Codebase and architecture review, delivery process assessment, technology option comparison, risk identification, and roadmap shaping.

Possible deliverables

  • 01Written review with findings and reasoning
  • 02Options compared with trade-offs stated
  • 03Prioritised recommendations
  • 04Follow-up discussion of open questions

07How engagements begin

How an engagement begins

A service is scoped after a conversation about the current process and the outcome wanted. Where the request spans several services — for example an integration plus a new interface — the work is sequenced so that each part is usable before the next starts.

Scope, assumptions and exclusions are written down before development. Anything not yet known is listed as an open question rather than estimated in silence.
